TELLConsult workshop on CLIL at Leuven University

TELLConsult tutor Ton Koenraad was invited to deliver a customised workshop for a Dutch school preparing its teachers for implementing a bilingual programme in its pre-vocational stream.
For this purpose an initial one-day workshop was run last week at Leuven University’s Learning Centre ‘Agora’

The programme was developed on the basis of a selection of content & activities of  Course #13 “Language and teaching skills for the bilingual classroom“, one of the courses in TELLConsult’s professional development offer

As it was an introductory course basic CLIL key concepts & principles were introduced, including:

Some teacher-as- learner activities  were carried out to provide experiential learning experiences sensitizing the participants for the implications for their student learners to be confronted with new discipline-specific concepts embedded in a challenging  language (L2) context.

We also introduced the TOOLS / CLIL project resources for further independent study & reflection.
